21.1.11

Such a busy day today, lots of cuddling this morning and then doing housework whilst my poorly boy slept.
He woke up 4.30 and we played and cuddled watching telly. He was fascinated when he realised the size difference when we put our feet next to each other. He found it very funny when i pointed out that "mummy has big feet, Charlie has little feet"
He then decided to keep tickling each of our feet and pointing to his when I said 'who's got big feet?' and to mine when I said 'who has little feet?' and laughed cheekily because he knew he was getting it wrong.

(Taken on my Blackberry hense the heavy editing)

20.1.11

My baby is sick :-(
We've had a really lovely day with our friends Lindsay and Grace. Popped to see my mum to go and buy an essential item for the new baby. Home for tea, bath and bed. All fine.
At around 7.10 he "woke" from what seemed to be a nightmare.....I say woke, he was just crying in his sleep. I lifted him up for a comfort snuggle and he stayed asleep on me, back in his cotbed, still all fine.
8.10(ish) he started crying, hubby went to see if he was ok to be greeted with a lot of sick! And I mean A LOT!
We used our team work and soon everything was almost back to normal (me sorting the bed, hubby sorting the boy) We all sat on the landing and looked at 'the moony' (the moon) through the window and got annoyed at next doors dog barking. Then eventually all did kisses and back to sleep for him.
And hourish later, little more sick.
So tomorrow I have a lot of washing to do and some teddies to save. One load is on already but one wash is not going to cut it.

We've been very lucky with him because he's never been a sicky baby. And this is all in the job description. I'd never ever complain about it :-) xxxx

19.1.11

I love his eyes, lashes and his cute little nose, I love everything about him.
He loves In The Night Garden and won't take his eyes off the screen.

Not an interesting photo I know but this is the first item we have bought for the new baby.
Half price....who can resist?! ;-)

15.1.11

It was hairwash day today. He hates hairwash! At one time last year he would beg us to pour water over his head, he loved it! Now, if a drop of water goes on his head he gives us a very stern look, warning us that he WILL splash us if anymore water trickles down his face.

Had he not of rubbed cottage cheese into his hair at lunchtime then hairwash could've waited until tomorrow.

(He was moving around a lot and busy playing hense the photo being so off centre!)

14.1.11

My husband bought me this book because I really enjoyed the two part tv series.
When I found out the tv series was adapted from a book I was really excited and HAD to read it. I think books are so much better than films or tv series. (Memoirs of a Geisha, Da Vinci Code, need I say more :-))

I seem to never have time for books anymore since having Charles BUT now pregnant I am going to set myself a lot of bath soaking time to read this and to get into reading before sleep again so I can relax and settle myself (and encourage a good nights sleep I hope).

13.1.11

I woke up this morning totally convinced that it may be Summer [or Spring at least!]
I was boiling hot, the weather looked clear, blue sky. I popped on a summer dress (its navy blue so acceptable and worn over leggings, again acceptable) and a thin cardigan and headed off out with Charles, who was dressed in normal clothes and not summer ones. We were driving to collect my mum and pop to the local hospital for me to have some simple blood tests taken [which didn't happen grrrrr but I won't rant about that!] and as I drove there I had the windows down in the front of the car and the boot window was half open too.
Sun was shining, I almost put my sunglasses on!
Not once did I feel cold at all. I was shocked at how lovely the weather was.
This afternoon it turned rather dull, I'm putting it down to it getting dark though rather than accepting that it's actually still winter!
So photo for today, a lovely pint of ice with probably only a inch of diet coke! Mmmmmmmm.

12.1.11

Mmmmm mini eggs!
Last night saw me take a late night trip to Tesco Express to get a Creme Egg...I then spotted the mini eggs too and couldn't resist.
Took me ages to pile these up as they kept collapsing.

xx Romance isn't dead xx
Walked into the kitchen this afternoon and saw this written on our chalk board by my husband.

Love how something as simple as this can make me smile for the rest of the day.

10.1.11

Pretty boring day today.
Me and Charles are now poorly, him more so than me. Just a cold, nothing serious thankfully. Hubby has a chest infection though :-(
These pinecones are from our walk in the woods yesterday. Charles became obsessed with collecting them. He ended up coming back with 'only' 9 in the end.
He wants to constantly keep checking they are all there so at the moment they are in a neat line on the window sill.
I'm hoping to collect more of these next time we go to the woods so we can display them somewhere in the house/garden.

9.1.11

We went for a walk to local woods today. Hubbys chest is poorly so thought fresh air would do him good and thought the toddler would love the freedom!
The woods are beautiful. We [my mum, my brother and I] used to take our dog there 10 years ago and when I met my husband we had a lovely picnic in the middle of the woods.

We were hoping to go deeper into the woods to find the river but Charles got tired all of a sudden so we headed back to the car.
We are hoping for lots of trips to the woods in the summer when the new baby arrives for some days out.

8.1.11

Dinner: chips and cheese sandwich. Mmmmmm
Hubby has man flu so doesn't want the planned dinner of Chicken Thai Green Curry so I took the opportunity to have a slummy dinner....because it would be rude not to.
Of course I had to add some salad cream....just because! Even better.
And today the photo is unedited...because I am feeling slummy and just because!
Dessert? An ice lolly and a Crunchie. Even better!

7.1.11

Its not often I recieve mail, its normally for my husband OR its junk mail or bills for me.
Today I recieved two letters from the hospital with great news.
One letter was test results and another was an appointment confirming my request for a particular consultant had been accepted! Woohoo! Tears of happiness.
Today is a good day.

6.1.11

Flu jab today.
Not as bad as I thought it would be.
Arm feeling a bit bruised but thats all so far. Although the side effects would be worth it.
Glad I had it!
I had ummed and ahhed at having it but after hearing all the sad stories in the news about pregnant women, babies and new mums my mind was made up!

5.1.11

Rock star.
Charles 'sang' his first song today. Normally he just 'ooooooooos' into the microphone but todays song featured all his favourite people "daddy, mumma, nanny and Pakka"

Baby number two due in July.
Very excited.

3.1.11

We went to the Sea Life Centre in Great Yarmouth today.
Its the first time we've taken Charles to a Sea Life Centre and he loved it. He has an obsession with fish, turtles, crabs and penguins at the moment so we were sure he would enjoy it.
This jellyfish was in a circular tank which Charles kept calling 'the moony'. The light kept changing colour, everytime I seemed to take a photo it was on red but I'm loving the result!

2.1.11

Representing 3 on my countdown!
1st photo is my 18 and a half month old son, Charles. He was breastfed until 2 weeks ago. Since then his eating has improved so much. His belly is becoming rounder (although he is still quite tiny!) and he will finish a whole plateful of whatever we offer, have dessert and fruit after!
2nd photo is me and Charles. He is watching In The Night Garden and having a snuggle before going off for bed. Since stopping breastfeeding its been nice that he will come to me simply for a cuddle (or cuggooo as he calls them!), and it not lead to him wanting milk or to use me as a dummy!
3rd photo is of the yummy special dinner my husband cooked us tonight. Its from Jamie Olivers Italian book. Spaghetti, double cream, a selection of mushrooms, chicken and parmesan. Yum! Went back for seconds ;-)
Life Is Good!

Happy New Year!
Ok, honestly, I don't like new year, I don't celebrate new year, just not bothered by it. I say Happy New Year in reply to people just to be polite, but try to avoid it if possible.
This photo represents one of my plans for 2011 but also represents a little countdown I am having!
4 days to go until I reveal all! (Won't be exciting if you do not know me!) The 4 days I represented by the 4 1's (clever hey?! NO?!)
This year I am going to set myself some Resolutions, I will probably fail straight away but will give myself at least a month to settle in!

* Be more organised (represented in this photo...a note on a woodchip noteboard!)
* Be tidier (linked to number 1)
* Keep on top of housework (linked to first two)
* Remember birthdays and send cards early!!
* Make more of an effort to see Nanny X
* Take Charles out more, have fun days out just the two of you.
* Cook healthier meals and plan meals better. Freeze some!
* Take more photos
* Stick to PAD/365

Photo 365.

Last year I started a Photo a Day project. By May/June I had failed!
This year I am determined to do the project and make a success of it!
Especially as we have a lot going on this year.....!!
So each day I'll take a photo, and edit if needed. I like to use the project as a diary if possible, if I have had a particularly boring, uneventful day then I'll just shoot whatever I fancy :-)

Enjoy!
